  • Did the asylum predate Vesper? Is he its operator, public face, research subject, or something else?

  • Where within the five years do his mother's Melt, Shiori's extraction, the unknown Melt, Aster's death, and the Widower's nine treatments fall?

  • What institution allowed a thirteen-to-eighteen-year-old Vesper to practice, and what did it believe it was authorizing?

Melt details

  • What exact autobiographical memory was destroyed in each of the three Melts?

  • Which procedural or behavioral residue remains from each?

  • Which foreign behavior belongs to an intact shard Vesper is consciously consulting, and which belongs to a Melt he cannot remember?

  • What does Roxana understand and consent to before her extraction, and what information is withheld?

Character history

  • Is Roxana's childhood fire primarily the origin of her providing or a debt she believes she must keep paying?

The bookmark formulation is developed but not locked. Its current test is whether evidence-as-re-entry clarifies Shiori without making her a healthy midpoint between Rain and Vesper.
