It’s time to explore why I love the character Marie from Persona 4 Golden so much. If I had to truly express it simply: she’s a mirror of my own life. Someone who feels lost and withdrawn due to feeling problems within myself that I don’t want to burden others with. It’s the vague loneliness within myself and the constant self doubt that appears over and over again.

Combine that with her overall aesthetic of being someone with her own style and expressing herself authentically (granted, in a masked way through her private poems), there is a pull that I couldn’t shake the moment I encountered her character in the game. I even replayed the game 3 times all the way through and saved the Golden ending for the 3rd final playthrough.
